Extensive representation for Colorado’s growing cities

At Collins Cockrel & Cole we provide direct representation of large and small municipalities in the greater Denver area and throughout Colorado as general and special counsel.

Our focus areas include:

  • Cities
  • Townships
  • Villages
  • School districts
  • Other local, regional and state governmental entities

We consult with municipalities on a daily basis and oversee a variety of municipal legal matters including those that occur within municipalities regularly and those that come up only once a century. Regardless of the rarity or complexity of an issue, we have the experience and specializations to provide professional legal municipal council as well and sound advice.

Our municipal attorneys assist clients in meeting their legal obligations and help them to avoid mistakes and errors that could result in costly litigation. Much of our current and ongoing work involves complex development projects for municipal and landowner clients, including:

  • Negotiating and drafting annexation
  • Public improvement
  • And development financing agreements

Our experience includes acting as the driving legal force behind the successful District Court and Colorado Supreme Court litigation, legislation and incorporation proceedings that lead to the 2001 formation of Colorado’s City of Centennial from portions of unincorporated Arapahoe County, including the former Castlewood and Southglenn census-designated places.

We pride ourselves on being a leader in municipal law in the state of Colorado and in providing our specialists to assist our municipal clients in meeting the needs of their citizens and the state’s growing cities.
